CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: The Downtown Gallery
The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan is proud to present the first-annual Downtown Gallery.
Our Vision
For Culture Days 2016 we see the downtown core becoming one big art gallery with art in the window of every store.
This partnership between art and business will showcase many fine downtown establishments and the work of local artists.

Requirements
Þ Your Contact Details – email, phone number and address
Þ Images of up to 3 pieces ready and available for exhibition Sept 15th
PLEASE NOTE: You are to submit images of the 3 pieces that will be exhibited, if accepted, to the Downtown Gallery Project.
Þ Description of the mediums, dimensions and price of each piece
Þ Size of work – Predominately we are looking for 2D artwork of medium size and scale (12″ – 36″). We also have a few select locations available for sculpture.
Þ Your CV -Dates and history of exhibitions, workshops, any and all relevant artistic pursuits and professional experience. 2 pages maximum – acceptable formats: Word Document, PDF, or in the body of the email
Þ Artist Statement – describing your artistic approach, medium, technique, history, themes, etc. 1 page maximum – acceptable formats: Word Document, PDF, or in the body of the email

FAQ
Can I sell my artwork?
Absolutely! We encourage all artists to include prices with their work. ARTSCO will broker the sales for a 20% commission fee to cover our admin costs.
What if my work isn’t exactly the sizes you’ve listed?
We will accept work over the size specified (36″ max length or width) for one of your three pieces – this will give the jury and businesses more options to choose from. The other two pieces should be within the recommended sizes (12″ – 36″)
What if I’m out of town during installation?
Our preference would be to have someone else drop off your work on your behalf a friend or family member drop your work off for you at the designated time and place. If this doesn’t work, please contact us to make other arrangements.
Who is jurying the work and how will the work be juried?
ARTSCO’s Downtown Gallery will be juried by ARTSCO’s Katie Brennan – the former Curator of the Lake Country Art Gallery. ARTSCO’s jurying focus for this project is inclusion and providing as many artists as possible the opportunity to be a part of this project and connect them with an exhibition opportunity. Artists of any level and age are welcome and encouraged to apply.
