Programming Coordinator – Davis Kyle

Hello! My name is Davis Kyle and I am the 2016 Programming Coordinator for ARTSCO. This fall I will become a second-year student in UVic’s Commerce program, transferring from UBC Okanagan. I have been very involved in the arts, having participated in RCM Grade 8 level voice and piano lessons, mainstage productions at Kelowna Actors’ Studio, and Theatre Kelowna, and I have also received multiple awards and scholarships in the Kiwanis Music Festival for Speech Arts, Piano and Voice, awards in the B.C. Interior Jazz Festival and many choirs, most recently KSS’s Vocal Jazz and Chamber Choir ensembles. On July 1st I will also be the senior youth performer in the Canada Day Pops Concert. At ARTSCO I have been developing a database of Arts and Culture groups, facilities, and schools while simultaneously preparing for Culture Days in the fall.

Communication Coordinator – Jacky Deng

Hi! My name is Jacky Deng and I am the Communication Coordinator at ARTSCO! I am entering my 4th year of Chemistry at UBC Okanagan and hope to be a chemistry professor one day. Outside of my scholastic life, I am also a musician and have composed music for various films and theatre productions in Kelowna. I most recently composed a score for Fred Skeleton Theatre Company’s The Pillowman which won Best Sound at the 2016 Okanagan Zone Theatre Festival. I am also an avid busker in the summer months, and you can often find me playing one of the downtown pianos provided by Festivals Kelowna.

As Communication Coordinator at ARTSCO, I hope to learn from and interact with the Central Okanagan arts community, and to make sure that you’re experiences with ARTSCO are both rewarding and entertaining. The arts have played a major role throughout my life, and I believe that ARTSCO is a wonderful opportunity for me to further assist in the promotion of the arts within our community!
