The Little Mermaid – Musical Theatre

Ages 6 to 12 (Participants must be able to read)

Saturdays 9-11am

Class starts: January 27, 2007

Somewhere under the sea and beyond your imagination is an adventure in fantasy.

Loosely based upon the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Ariel, youngest daughter of King Triton, is dissatisfied with life in the sea. She longs to be with the humans above the surface, and is often caught in arguments with her father over those "barbaric fish-eaters". She goes to meet Ursula, the Sea Witch, to strike a deal, but Ursula has bigger plans for this mermaid and her father.  This musical with its catchy tunes, wonderful characters and enchanting story is sure to be a bit hit!  Make the Little Mermaid a part of your world!

Ages 7 to 11

Teen Hollywood - The Theatre SCENE – On Camera, Improv and Theatre

Scripts will include: X Men, Ten Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde, Spiderman

Ages 12 to 17

Wednesdays 4pm to 6pm
Class Starts – January 31

Both Kids Hollywood classes include:

On-Camera

In the On-camera session, learn the mechanics of TV, film, and commercial acting while having a great time! Overcome fears and become comfortable with the special requirements and techniques of acting for the camera. Working on-camera strengthens your ability to move beyond "acting" to fully bring characters to life and to react truthfully in the moment. As you begin to apply your skills to actual scripts from TV, film, and commercials, you build a solid foundation that keeps you sharp and audition-ready. Develop the ability to handle any type of script, adding your own unique style.

Improv

Improvisation, or Improv, is a form of acting in which no script is used. Students learn how to think on their feet, make creative choices, take direction more easily, keep their energy up, maximize their personalities and most importantly - have FUN!

Theatre

In the Theatre, you’ll learn the difference between stage and camera, understanding the skills and techniques needed for each. Work on monologues & scenes; enjoy creating characters and telling the story, while exploring the craft of stage acting. You’ll come away with enough confidence to feel comfortable in both mediums.

The classes let you explore it all!  Drama, improv and film!  Discover where your interests and talents lie, while having a fun experience.

Register at our box office, by calling 862-2867 or online
Register early.  Class size is limited.
